Turkish Get Up
Official Rules
Any dumbbell, kettlebell or barbell is used for this lift. The lift begins when the lifter is lying on their back on the platform holding the weight in one hand above the body with a straight arm perpendicular to the platform. After the lifter is set, the Head Referee will give the “Start” command to begin the lift. The lifter will rise from the floor to a standing position, holding the chosen weight overhead with a straight arm throughout the lift.
The lifting arm must stay perpendicular to the lifting platform throughout the attempt. The lifter may use the non-lifting arm to brace against the body or push against the platform during the execution of the lift, but the non-lifting arm must not touch the weight or the lifting arm. Once standing erect with the weight overhead, motionless and the lifter’s feet in line with the body, the Head Referee will give a “Down” command to end the lift. Kilts are not permitted on lifts where lifters are lying on the ground or on any bench press lift. Officials Commands: Start, Down
