Louis Cyr 1 Arm Dumbbell Press (Left or Right Hand)

Official Rules

Any size dumbbell or dumbbell handle may be used for this lift. The lifter may choose to perform the lift with either the left or the right hand. Records will be kept for the left hand and right hand. The dumbbell will be raised to the shoulder in any manner (one or two hands) but must become motionless at the shoulder before being pressed overhead. Once at the shoulder, the dumbbell is pressed overhead with only one hand. The non-lifting hand is not allowed to touch the arm or weight during the overhead press. The feet may move during the attempt. If unsuccessful with one arm, the lifter may switch and attempt the dumbbell with the other arm, time permitting. Once the dumbbell is overhead and motionless with the arm locked to the best of their ability, the body upright, legs straight and stable, the Head referee will then give a “Down” command to end the lift. The lifter should take every measure to return the dumbbell safely to the ground or platform. Officials Commands: Down
