Donald Dinnie Deadlift
Official Rules
The rules of the Deadlift apply with these exceptions. Two loadable vertical bars with attached ring handles are used for the Donald Dinnie Deadlift. The maximum height from the floor to the top of the lifting rings is 21 inches (53 cm). The smaller vertical bar’s weight must not exceed 75 percent of the other larger loaded vertical bar. Any style of deadlifting may be used, straddle lift, side by side or in front on the legs. The head referee will give a “Down” command to end the lift once the lifter is erect/vertical, knees locked, and the weight is motionless and under control. Officials Commands: Down
VI.D. Deadlift Rules
The lifter must face the front of the platform with the bar horizontally in front of the lifter’s feet, gripped with an alternate or double overhand grip in both hands and lifted until the lifter is standing erect.
On completing the lift, the knees shall be locked in a straight position and the shoulders erect with the shoulders, hips and ankles in a straight vertical body position. At the completion of the lift, the Head Referee will say “Down!” The command will not be given until the bar is held motionless and the lifter is in the upright/vertical finished position.
Once the attempt has begun no downward movement of the bar is allowed until the lifter reaches the erect/vertical position with the knees locked.
