1904 Dumbbell to Shoulder

Official Rules

Any size dumbbell or dumbbell handle may be used for this lift. The dumbbell will be lifted from the floor to the shoulder using any manner the lifter chooses. The dumbbell may be lifted with two hands or one hand, continental style, or may rest on the belt during the lift. The lifter’s hands may grab or use any part of the dumbbell to complete the lift. Any size weight plate may be loaded onto the dumbbell, it is recommended that 12-inch (30.5 cm) circumference plates or less be used. The lift is finished when the lifter is standing erect, with the dumbbell on their shoulder and under control. It is permissible if both hands remain on the dumbbell to finish the lift. The lift is finished when the Head Referee gives the “Down” command and the weight is returned to the platform under control. Officials Commands: Down
